City Tour in Concon, Viña del Mar and Valparaíso
We invite you to a wonderful tour along the coasts and hills of the central region of Chile, where we will explore three essential destinations: Concon, Viña del Mar and Valparaíso. Along this tour, we will discover its landscapes, history and culture through its iconic tourist points.
We started in Concon:
Our first stop will be at Concon, a charming coastal destination that offers us an impressive natural show. Here, we'll visit the famous Dunas de Concón, a vast desert of golden sand that extends to the point of view. Perfect for those who enjoy adventure tourism, where they can practice sandboard or just walk and marvel with the landscape.
From the dunes, we took a tour of coastal edge where the Pacific Ocean meets the land. In this section, it is possible to see the waves breaking gently on the rocks and enjoy a fresh and saline air.
We arrived in Viña del Mar:
As we move towards Viña del Mar, we find one of the most visited cities in Chile. Our first stop will be the Flower Clock, an emblematic symbol of the city that, with its colorful design, has witnessed countless visitors over the years. The watch, located in a beautiful garden, becomes an excellent opportunity for a photo that captures the essence of the city.
From here, we are heading to a high point, the Cerro Castillo where, in addition to enjoying an unparalleled panoramic view of Viña and the coast, we can know the presidential residence from the outside. The hill is surrounded by beautiful gardens and palaces, creating a majestic atmosphere to relax and admire the environment.
Valparaiso, the Pacific Jewel:
Finally, we moved to Valparaíso, the city port par excellence, full of history, art and life. The tour begins at Cerro Bellavista where you can appreciate the bohemia and the colorful murals that adorn its streets. This hill is also home to the famous Casa Museo of Pablo Neruda, La Sebastiana which invites you to immerse yourself in the world of the chilean poet.
From here, we drive to Cerro Florida, a residential district that stands out for its tranquility and beautiful urban landscapes, but without losing the vibrant essence of Valparaíso. The view from here is impressive, with a panoramic view of the entire bay.
Later, we arrived at the Plaza de los Poetas, a place that pays tribute to the great literates of the city, such as Pablo Neruda, Vicente Huidobro and Gabriela Mistral, who left a deep mark on Chilean culture. The square is full of sculptures, banks and gardens that invite reflection.
Tour of the hills and glances:
Our journey continues on the most representative hills of Valparaíso, such as the Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción with a walk, two of the most pictures neighborhoods of the city. These slopes offer spectacular views of the port and the colorful houses of Valparaiso that seem to climb the mountains. On these hills, the narrow and steep streets are full of shops, cafes and art galleries that show the creative spirit of the city.
We can't miss the Mirador 21 de Mayo, an excellent point from which we observe the whole bay and the port. This viewpoint offers one of the best panoramic views of Valparaiso and its surroundings, making it a mandatory stop for any visitor.
Historical Lifts:
In our adventure in Valparaíso, we reached the Lifts that characterize the city. The Elevator Reina Victoria and Elevator El Peral are two of the oldest and most traditional. Up on one of these elevators is like traveling to the past, as these machines, dating from the 19th century, continue to work to transport visitors and locals between the hills and the city plan. The experience is unique and allows us to understand how Valparaiso has adapted to its particular geography.
Plaza Sotomayor:
Finally, we ended our tour on the Plaza Sotomayor, the heart of Valparaiso. This historic square, surrounded by emblematic buildings such as the Chilean Navy, is the center of the cultural and political life of the city. Here is the Monument to the Heroes of Iquique, a symbol of Chilean resistance. The square is a meeting point for tourists and locals, and offers a vibrant atmosphere.
With this route, we have traveled some of the most iconic points of Concon, Viña del Mar and Valparaíso enjoying the impressive natural beauty, historical architecture and vibrant cultural life these cities have to offer. If you ever have a chance to go through these destinations, do not hesitate to do so! Each corner has a story to tell and a landscape that will leave you breathless.
